Thanks for visiting the official website for Levo, an emerging lyricist/rapper/MC from the Northwest of England. Originally, Levo started writing as a 'therapeutic aid', to help himself through what he considers "dark" and "hard" times.
Although a life long fan of music from a vast array of genres, Levo had never thought about the creative aspects of music, until 2008 when he was shown the basic aspects of DJing and music production by CJ. Levo took the bait and was hooked instantly, but there was still no sign of developing some sort of rap career until some point in 2009, when Levo's friend (and local MC) Colsey released "The Path".
It was upon hearing The Path that Levo's life changed forever - he realized that rap wasn't REALLY about that commercialised shit you hear on the radio/TV everyday, and that it was really about having your say and putting your thoughts and feelings to a track. When this revelation came to light, it wasn't too difficult for Levo to repurpose his writing. The making of a mixtape was quickly put into action and Levo worked hard on his timing and delivery...
His earliest work, "The Four Minute Warning", was a badly produced, under marketed and poorly delivered mixtape which was retracted, hidden away and metaphorically burned. Levo learned lessons and stepped up his game as Colsey continued slowly coaxing him out of his shell by making him spit bars while they got stoned. Levo majorly lacked confidence and was slightly intimidated by his best friends ability.
Levo entered a quiet period while collating the beats and bars for a thought provoking, "real" and emotive mixtape which he called "Foundations". "Foundations" was a metaphor - the foundations on which he was building his rap career.
After almost two years in creation, Levo found himself very nearly ready for recording and started talking to Colsey about self-recording both their mixtapes: Colsey's "Back On Track" and Levo's "Foundations". For a reason unknown to Levo, he opted to change the name of his mixtape to "Versus Everyone & Everything".
Levo recorded R.a.M's "Somewhere Or Nowhere" mixtape at R.a.M's home, laid a half verse on the title track and then started to become desperate to record his and Colsey's mixtapes...
Levo started more work with R.a.M and Potent Homegrown was born. Shortly after, Colsey was incarcerated and Levo started to record Versus Everyone & Everything. As a mark of respect to his friend and rap 'mentor', Levo has dedicated the mixtape to Colsey.
Versus Everyone & Everything was released on 12 March 2012 through soundcloud and is hosted on youtube for online listening and marketing.
